Nov. 17-21

Monday:

1.   Go over vocab list #1 (quiz on Friday)

2. Begin reading Tears of a Tiger (20 minutes of SILENT reading) 

3. Note card 5-sentence summary (put your name, date, period, and start/end pages of what you've read. You should write a 5-sentence summary of what you read. These will be COLLECTED)

4. Notes on conflict  (go over Powerpoint briefly and discuss the types of conflict you've seen so far in their reading.)

HOMEWORK: Create vocab flash cards

1. 5-minute partner vocab review (anyone who didn’t do it need to make the cards)

2. Silent read 20 minutes in Tears of a Tiger

3. Note card 5-sentence summary

4. Character wheel SAY/DO/THINK/FEEL (focus on finding quotations to analyze Andy — what are things he says, does, thinks, and feels that let us see who he really is as a character?)

1.   Silent read 20 minutes

2.   “Most Frightening Moment” assignment (Make sure all kids are read up that part first! Take a few minutes to discuss Keisha's frightening moment. Use the rest of the time to work – due Tuesday on MBC)
